Whether you have been in the ring or NOT, to test yourself in battle, there are a few things that everyone knows about fighters:
1- fighters train countless minutes, hours, days, weeks and years to be the best.
2- fighters fail, lose, stumble, fall, make mistakes, and learn to adapt.
3- fighters are willing to risk it all for the love of the FIGHT.
But there is one thing that you might NOT know about fighters:
FIGHTERS UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF THE INNER VOICE.
What they are saying to themselves while they are training or in the heat of battle, is the major thing that will guide them towards VICTORYor DEFEAT.
This is known to some as “self-talk” or “positive thinking”. Call it what you want, but understand this kind of talk does NOT just work for fighters.
Fighters FIGHT the “negative” mindset because they know that it will only bring them closer to defeat.
And get this straight, NO fighter wants or likes to LOSE.
But when it happens they use the “inner voice” or “champion talk”to fuel their UPRISE from set-back and disappointment.
WE ARE ALL FIGHTERS ON THE INSIDE AND WE HAVE THE ABILITY TO “BOUNCE BACK’ FROM LOSS!!
The day Hurricane Sandy destroyed the Rockaway Peninsula (and other areas in the North East) , I sat with Sarah from higher ground and watched our 1200 sq foot gym drown in 8 feet of Atlantic ocean surge and the rising tides from Jamaica Bay.
I remember telling her, “we will come back BIGGER and BETTER than before.”
I didn’t know HOW.
I didn’t know WHAT we were going to do.
BUT I DID KNOW WHY.
We started something beautiful in the Rockaways, our community believed in us, and we weren’t going down without a FIGHT.
Our WHY kept and still keeps us scrapping away to inspire, motivate and educate the community on physical culture. Now, with a 5000 sq foot gym to drive us to BIGGER and BETTER things.
YOU CAN DO THE SAME FOR YOUR FIGHT OF LIFE!
“It is possible…”
“I have a champion’s heart…”
These are all weapons that you can use in the FIGHT of life!!
USE them to get your mind right for the battle at hand.
