CHAMP UP! …the message is universal. Chris Romulo’s philosophy on fighting back is changing the lives of people who WANT more in life.
Sometimes we lose the drive that gets us out of bed every morning.
And without this drive, our victories become harder to reach. Whether it’s in the business or academic world, employees and students need to stay focused and strive for personal and professional milestones.
At times, a well-delivered inspirational speech is all that’s needed to jumpstart employee or student morale, and in turn, motivate people to work toward greatness.
SOME OF CHRIS’ MOST POPULAR TOPICS ARE:
Developing the C.H.A.M.P.S. mindset: Learn how to stand back up every time you fall
Understanding both sides of the Bully Coin: Build a better world by becoming a better YOU
There’s Already A Champion Within You: Uncover your true self to create a purposeful life
As a retired professional Muay Thai champion, Chris Romulo knows what it takes to wake up and face each day with a winning spirit. And now as a mindset coach and motivational speaker, he knows what it takes to help people DIG DEEP and realize their own potential to succeed in their next mission, project, or goal.

Chris helps individuals understand that we CAN take decisive control over our lives by empowering our own minds, getting in the “fight” of life and starting a champions uprising.
How does Chris manage to reach individuals from as close as the members of his Rockaway Beach community to folks in far off lands seeking his guidance? Vulnerability.
You might be wondering how an ex-fighter and champion can be vulnerable. But the truth is, like so many kids today, Chris also struggled with being bullied, low grades, and a broken home as a child.
As an adult he has experienced the highs of triumph and the setback of defeat: both losing and winning in the ring, building a gym from nothing and having it destroyed with in 24 hours from Hurricane Sandy’s wrath. He knows what it’s like to fall face down in “the canvas”, with out a home or way to make a life for his family yet still bounce back bigger than ever.
With a steadfast mindset, Chris rose up against the challenges life put in front of him.
But Chris doesn’t hide what he’s been through. And by showing how vulnerable he was—and more importantly how he overcame that vulnerability—students can relate to him immediately.
Chris is a motivating and engaging speaker tailoring his message to the audience’s needs. He uses slideshows and highlight videos and even some acting. He might even put on the boxing gloves.
You see, Chris has spent the last 20 years teaching his students how to fight. Not only in the ring, but in life.
He teaches individuals how to fight for their dreams and goals. He teaches them how to dig deep, find their “why” and fight for it. But more importantly, he teaches them how to fight for what they believe in and work toward greatness!
What people are saying:
“We brought Chris to Scholar’s Academy because our students needed some leadership and someone they could connect to that would understand the hardships they’re going through during their school year. Chris was able to connect at a level where they felt inspiration and looked up to Chris as a positive role model. I can’t wait to have Chris back next year to engage our total population!”
— Rosa Lagombra, Guidance Counselor, Scholars Academy
“We had the privilege of having Chris Romulo come to our school and speak with a group of students. Coach Chris was able to connect with our students through real life situations. He was engaging, motivating, and inspired the entire group. Chris was able to capture students through visual and tactile presentations. Students were inspired by the strong positive message of ‘C.H.A.M.P.S.’ and the meaning behind it. Having Coach Chris come to our school to share and inspire our students was an amazing experience for all.”
— Keith T. Matone, Assistant Principal, New Utrecht High School
“During Bullying Awareness month Chris Romulo visited my school and spoke to us about his personal experience with bullying and the effects that bullying may have on an individual. By Chris sharing his very personal experiences, it shows that people can get through anything if they just take their negative experiences and turn them into positive outcomes. Thank you Chris for never giving up and for sharing your story to motivate others going through tough times!”
— Jada M., 8th grader at The Scholars’ Academy
