Sometimes you’re the hammer, sometimes you’re the nail

“A teacher, a really good teacher, is never a giver of truth; he is a guide, a pointer to truth.”- Bruce Lee

Even though my own fighting career has been done since 2011, I feelblessed to wake up every morning to be able to inspire someone else on their own journey.

About 8 months ago, Sarah met a woman in our community who mentioned that her 15 year old son is a national level amateur boxer.

I thought I knew of all the fighters in our town but I never heard of this young man.

So Sarah mentioned to her that one of our longtime students is a national level Muay Thai fighter and that they should get together one day and spar.

In the fighting world, that is the equivalent of a “play date”.

Nothing personal, just 2 willing and able bodies, strapping on some gloves to test their skills.

Months go by and finally these 2 young men and meet up at our gym and they “hit it off”.

For weeks now they have been pushing each other, some days our kid having a better day and sometimes the other kid will fair better.

I like to say, “Sometimes you are the hammer, sometimes you are the nail”

Either way, I’ve watched the both of them grow and help each other develop as fighters in their minds, bodies and souls.

Tonight we will head out to the city to support the “other” kid in his fight to get to the National Tournament. Knowing that “our” kid was able to help the “other” kid is truly what the Champions Uprising is about.

These 2 young men have a DREAM and a PASSION.

They push through the hard times.

And they know they wouldn’t be able to do it alone.

YOU can start a Champions Uprising in YOUR own life.

I’m not saying you need to JUMP in the RING and “test your chin”

What I am saying is, JUMP into LIFE and test your heart.

Test your:

Keep in mind that LIFE is like a FIGHT.

But no matter whether YOU are a spectator or inside the ropes, YOUwill get hit, by LIFE, so you might as well learn how to hit back.

Sometimes you will fall, but you CAN get back up to your feet EVERY SINGLE TIME!

ANY and EVERY sport relates back to LIFE.  Think about it:

“Shots on goal, you will always miss the ones you don’t take”

“You can’t play football without getting hit”

Babe Ruth is FAMOUS for hitting 714 home runs in his career.

But what most people don’t realize is that he also had 1,330 strikeouts for his efforts.
